I used to think I was organized, put together, and a perfectionist. I mean, I am a Virgo – aren’t virgos supposed to be list-makers and basically perfect in every way? Well…I am far from perfect!
My house is lived in and some days I can barely find the time to wash the 14 loads of laundry that grace my bathroom floor. I mean, it’s not like I work outside the home or anything but life kinda gets away from me and I look up and the clock has just slipped forward just a little too quickly. Does this happen to anyone else??
I am a follower of Jesus and that gives me alot of peace. Knowing that His Grace covers everything makes me happy and joyful. I no longer beat myself up if I can’t get something done in a day or if I slip up and say something I know I shouldn’t – which by the way, happens more than I care to really admit. I get impatient quickly, especially in traffic and nutty bars are my most favorite food (which I do NOT eat for a meal – ever! LOL)
I’ve been married almost 8 years to Mr. Wonderful and between us, we have 4 children (2 a piece). Besnson is my son. He’s 18 and getting on my last nerve! Is anyone else in this boat?? I really believe there is something that happens to kids once they become an ‘adult’ that turns them weird! Really, he’s a great kid - I don’t have alot of trouble out of him other than he can drink a gallon of milk in a day and with milk being about $4 a gallon, I am insisting on him getting a job if he wants to continue his milk obsession! He is in his last year of high school which has me on pins and needles. Stand with me in prayer because he takes his ACT on Feb. 6 – Lord, help him to retain the information he needs to pass it!!!
Hunter is my daughter – she’s 14 and is an absolute dream! Unlike Ben, her obsession is not milk but texting! Thank God, she has the unlimited texting plan – last month, she recked up 6000 texts! I mean, why can’t she just call her friends instead – it is a cell PHONE! She is in 8th grade and doesn’t have a boyfriend, which I’m so glad. I happen to think that 14 is too young for kissy-kissy with boys. Luckily, she does too!
Jake is my husbands oldest son. He’s 13 and does have a girlfriend. He’s a great kid and is all about video games.
And last but not least, Jess. The younger of Mr. Wonderful’s children. He’s 11 and is basically a mini Mr. Wonderful. He enjoys hunting and fishing and anything outdoors. Thankfully he’s still at the age where parents are more fun than anyone else…I love that!
Now, Mr. Wonderful – of course, to his friends, he’s known as Jay. He’s a hunter first, a fisherman second. In fact, since October 15 (the day bow season started), I’ve barely seen him. On weekends and days off, he drives to the hunting land and spends the night (with Jess in tow) and tries to bring home the bacon – or venison rather. This year, he’s been kinda successful. Yeah! Hopefully, we won’t have to buy any meat this year!
Life is good – life is fun. I have given up trying to be the perfect wife and mother – all I do now is enjoy the Grace and forgiveness that Jesus offers and the strength and courage He gives me to live a Holy life. My marriage to Mr. Wonderful is not without it’s ups and downs – but I know God gave me this wonderful man and we choose to forgive one another and be grateful for our life. We try not hide behind a spiritual veil but be real people living a life that is pleasing to God – knowing that we WILL mess up. I guess that’s all any of us can ever do really…
Well, that’s it for now but I’m sure I’ll have more to add soon…I always do.
